The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) serves the city of Gatineau and provides peak-hour service to Chelsea and Cantley in the province of Quebec. Both cities are located just east of Canada's capital city Ottawa.

Almost all of the STO's bus routes travel into downtown Ottawa where one of the STO's major terminals is located. Connections with OC Transpo buses can be made on Rideau & Wellington Streets, as well as Tunney's Pasture during peak-hours.

History

Transit service in the Outaouais region was previously provided by the Commission de transport de la communauté regionale de l'Outaouais (CTCRO), created on May 1, 1972. The CTCRO became the Société de transport de l'Outaouais on January 1, 1991.

STO launched its Rapibus BRT in 2013, adding a backbone of high-level service network.
