- 1905: The Buffalo, Lockport and Rochester Railway (BL&R) (the predecessor to the Rochester, Lockport and Buffalo Railroad) is created from an amalgamation of the Albion and Lockport Railway, the Albion and Rochester Railway, and the Albion Electric Railway.
- 1911: The BL&R is acquired by Clifford D. Beebe, who in turn placed it under the common management of his other associated interurban lines, known collectively as the Beebe Syndicate.
- 1911: Seasonal service extended over the International Railway Company Olcott line to Lake Ontario, connecting with steamship services to Toronto. This service extension lasted until the end of the 1914 sailing season.
- 1914: Agreement is made with IRC, allowing BL&R service to continue to Downtown Buffalo over IRC Lockport interurban line. This arrangement lasted until 1919.
- 1917: By the end of 1917, all ties of the BL&R to the Beebe Syndicate were severed.
- 1919: The Rochester, Lockport and Buffalo Railroad is created as a reorganization of the bankrupt BL&R railway.
- 1928: Routing in downtown Rochester changed to use the newly opened Rochester Subway.
- 1932: Similar services begin operation by Rochester, Niagara Falls and Buffalo Coach Lines. Three round trips operate between Buffalo and Rochester on this route, while five round trips are offered between Lockport and Niagara Falls.
