The routing of Route 135

Route 135 was a regular route that operated from southern Orleans to Place d'Orleans station. During AM peak periods, trips to Place d'Orleans did not run while during PM peak periods, trips to Esprit did not run.

History

September 5th, 1995

  • Will operate in two directions. The new routing will provide a connection between Queenswood Heights and destinations within Fallingbrook.

September 3rd, 2000

  • Was revised to serve the community east of Tenth Line only.
  • Buses travelled via St. Joseph and Tenth Line to and from Place d’Orléans.
  • The route was also extended southeast to serve the new commercial developments at Tenth Line and Innes and the new residential area along Portobello and Nantes.
  • Service along Tompkins and Des Epinettes were replaced by new Route 130.
  • Service on Du Grand Bois continued to be provided by Route 137 which is unchanged.

December 14th, 2001

  • Service removed from Nantes and extended along Portobello to start near Martello.

December 23rd, 2002

  • Will no longer travel northbound on Portobello north of Scala or westbound on Innes between Portobello and Esprit. From Portobello, northbound buses will travel via Scala, Chardonnay and Esprit to Innes, in order to serve this new residential area until such time as roads further south, are developed. Southbound buses will continue to travel via Innes to Portobello.

April 18th, 2004

  • Will be revised to use the new roadway along the development (Future Blackburn Hamlet Bypass, now Brian Coburn Blvd.) towards Esprit.
  • Service on Scala and Chardonnay is removed.

June 27th, 2004

  • No weekend service before 9 AM. This was due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.

September 4th, 2004

  • Will follow a different routing on weekends to compensate for the removal of weekend service on Route 136. Buses will operate on Varennes, Valin, Portobello south of Valin and Gardenway.
  • There will be no weekend service on Bottriell, Merkley or Innes between Esprit and Portobello.
  • No weekend service before 9 AM. This was due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.

September 2nd, 2007

  • Weekend special routing via Gardenway, Portobello, and Varennes is cancelled due to the reinstatement of Route 136 on Sundays.

August 31st, 2008

  • Route will be renamed Avalon instead of Local South, and Place d’Orléans instead of Orléans.
  • The last two trips on weekdays will be extended from Innes and Tenth Line to Place d’Orléans.

September 6th, 2009

  • Route began following a similar routing to express Route 35 and introduced new local service on Lakeridge.
  • Service on Portobello south of Innes, Blackburn, Watters, Montcrest and Princess Louise was provided by new Route 120.

September 4th, 2011

  • Will be extended along Lakeridge to Harvest Valley to bring local service closer to residents.
  • Buses will also be revised to operate from Charlemagne via Tompkins and Prestone, instead of Tenth Line, to improve service in Queenswood Heights.

September 1st, 2013

  • Special school trips were removed from Montmere to travel via Brian Coburn and Trim.

June 25th, 2015

  • Modified route south of Innes Road. Starts at Lakeridge and Vista Park.

April 24th, 2016

  • The first and last weekday trips southbound and the last weekday trip northbound is cancelled due to low ridership.

December 25th, 2016

  • Peak direction trips will be offered by new Connexion Route 235. Other trips will not change.

October 6th, 2019

  • Route is renumbered to local Route 35.
  • Route is extended to Blair Station for better connections with O-Train Line 1 service.
