The New Flyer Industries XN40 is a CNG-powered transit bus from New Flyer's Xcelsior line. In February 2012, CATA of State College, Pennsylvania was the first customer to take delivery of the XN40.

The bus has a raised roofline like the XDE40, but it is taller to accommodate the CNG tanks. Because the CNG tanks take up the space on the roof and there is no need for a diesel aftertreatment system, the HVAC unit is at the rear over the engine.
