The New Flyer Industries D60 (nicknamed Galaxy and later known as the D60HF) was a 60-foot articulated transit bus sold in Canada and the United States. New Flyer completed their articulated prototype in the latter half of 1988, and their first production buses were delivered to AC Transit of Oakland the following year.[1] The last D60 buses were built in 2006 as the final option of a contract with Metro Transit of Minnesota.
The D60 used a tubular steel structure. This, along with fibreglass body panels, helped reduce the vehicle's weight. Wheel housings were stainless steel, as were the stepwells, though they could also be fibreglass. The bus was a "pusher" with the engine at the rear. It was offered with either a T-drive or V-drive powertrain configuration.
