The Motor Coach Industries D45 CRT LE CHARGETM, part of MCI's next-generation D-Series, is a battery-electric commuter coach available in Canada and the United States. The coach features a low entry section near the middle to facilitate boarding of mobility devices. This low floor section can also be accessed via a staircase to the high floor section.

The pre-production bus, known as the D45 CRTe LE prior to May 13, 2021, featured a high-torque 4,500 Nm electric drive from Siemens and 400 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries from XALT. It could be fully charged with a high power plug-in charger in under three hours. It had an estimated range of 170 miles and a top speed of 72 miles per hour.[1]

The D45 CRT LE CHARGE uses a traction motor from Siemens that produces 3,320 ft-lb of torque. A 520 kWh capacity NMC battery allows for a range of between 156 to 250 miles. The bus can be recharged in under four hours. Prior to 2022, a 389 kWh capacity NMC battery was used allowing for a range of 170 miles. The bus could be recharged in under three hours.[2]
