Mississauga Transit 0301-0344

MiWay 0301-0344 are New Flyer D40LF buses built in 2003.

In August 2002, a tender was issued for the supply of 44 40' low floor diesel buses. New Flyer, Nova Bus, and Orion responded to the tender as follows:

New Flyer - $19,531,498.80
Orion - $20,943,340.00
Nova Bus - $21,666,818.00

With New Flyer having the lowest bid, they were awarded the contract in November 2002.

Delivery began in June 2003, and the buses began entering service in July 2003. Upon entering service, these buses replaced 8401-8415, 8501, and 8601-8609, with the rest of the buses expanding the fleet.

Retirement of these buses began in 2018. As of June 2021, 18 buses remain in service.
