MetroLINK

The Rock Island County Metropolitan Mass Transit District (MetroLINK) provides transit service to Rock Island, Moline, East Moline, Milan, Silvis, Carbon Cliff, Hampton and Colona in Illinois.

History

Founded in November 1970.
In 1983, the Quad City Transit Facility, located at 2929 5th Ave. in Rock Island, was completed to store RICMMTD's and Davenport CitiBus' fleets.
In 1988, "MetroLINK" was the chosen name in a public contest and has been applied on transit buses to attract new customers.
In May 1998, Centre Station was opened as a transportation hub to connect several bus routes.
In April 2014, the Operations & Maintenance Center was completed as the new facility to store and maintain MetroLINK's bus fleet.
