21 Westwood Village / Downtown Seattle is a bus route operated by King County Metro in Seattle, Washington State. An express version of the route is known as 21X Arbor Heights / Westwood Village / Downtown Seattle

Route 21 operates from King County Metro's Central Base.

Route Details

This north-south route runs between Westwood Village and Downtown Seattle via 35th Avenue SW. Weekday service runs every 15 minutes, decreasing to every 30-60 minutes during early morning and late evening periods. Saturday service runs every 20 minutes, decreasing to every 30-60 minutes during early morning and late evening periods. Sunday service runs every 30 minutes, decreasing to every hour during late evening periods. Service runs from 4:45 AM to 1:15 AM on weekdays, 5:45 AM to 1:15 AM on Saturdays and 6 AM to 1:15 AM on Sundays[1]. Service is interlined with route 5.

Southbound trips start on 3rd Avenue coming off of route 5 and head south on 3rd Avenue, south on 2nd Avenue Ext S, south on 4th Avenue S, west on Edgar Martinez Drive S, south on 1st Avenue S, west on SW Spokane Street, south on SW Avalon Way, south on 35th Avenue SW and east on SW Barton Street to Westwood Village.

Northbound trips depart Westwood Village east on SW Barton Street, south on 26th Avenue SW, west on SW Roxbury Street, north on 35th Avenue SW, north on SW Avalon Way, east on SW Spokane Street, north on 1st Avenue S, east on Edgar Martinez Drive S and north on 4th Avenue S to Royal Brougham Street, where the route continues as route 5 to Shoreline.

Route 21X trips do not interline with route 5. All route 21X trips operate an Arbor Heights loop. On southbound trips, the route continues south on 35th Avenue SW, west on SW 100th Street, south on 44th Avenue SW, south on Marine View Drive SW, east on SW 106th Street, south on 39th Avenue SW, south on Marine View Drive SW, north on 35th Avenue SW to SW Roxbury Street, where the trip terminates. On northbound trips, the route departs SW Roxbury Street and 35th Avenue SW, completes the same Arbor Heights loop, and then heads north on 35th Avenue SW, resuming the regular route.

Northbound route 21X trips make no stops between 35th Avenue SW & SW Morgan Street and 1st Avenue S & S King Street except for 35th Avenue SW & SW Avalon Way. Southbound route 21X trips make no stops between 1st Avenue S & Railroad Avenue S and 35th Avenue SW & SW Morgan Street except for 35th Avenue SW & SW Avalon Way.

Route 21X trips take SR 99 into Downtown Seattle, instead of 1st Avenue S.
