King County Metro, or Metro for short, is the transit agency for Seattle and King County in Washington state. King County Metro's predecessor was the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle which took over transit operations from the Seattle Transit System and Metropolitan Transit in 1973 to form an integrated county-wide bus system. In 1994, the operation of the transit system was acquired by King County when Metro and King County merged but transit remained a separate department. In 1996, the bus system officially became known as King County Metro when the new King County Department of Transportation was created.

1050 King County Metro 1050-a.jpg 1982? Renault 1050 was loaned to Metro by Renault. Although it was not owned by Metro, the bus was temporarily given fleet number 1050, because it was on loan for more than a year and was tested in service on numerous Metro routes. Metro was considering using dual-mode buses in its then-only-proposed Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel and wanted to evaluate the technology. The Renault arrived in summer 1982, entered service on November 1, 1982, and ran in service for the last time in December 1983. It left Seattle in early 1984.
