Green Bus Lines 701-704, 717-718 were 1989 MCI Classic Suburban (TC40-102A) buses. They were all configured with a single door. These buses were purchased by the New York City Department of Transportation.

In 2000, buses 703 and 704 were two of the four buses that GBL transferred to New York Bus Service through NYCDOT for the four Orion V Suburbans that were not well-liked by that company.

Buses 701 and 702 remained under GBL's operations throughout their time in revenue service. On January 9, 2006, MTA Bus took over their operations and bus fleet, bus 702 being one of them. Bus 701 was scrapped before the takeover.
