Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority 8301-8377 were Flxible Metro "A" (40102-6T) buses built in 1983. They were delivered in early 1984. Unlike many Flxible Metro buses, these buses did not have air conditioning. This was due to RTA's policy on not having air conditioning buses, due to problems with the A/C on the AMG and RTS buses they purchased in 1978 and 1979. It wasn't until the late 1980s, when RTA retrofitted all of these buses with roof mounted air conditioning units from Carrier. These buses also had no kneeling or wheelchair lifts.
