GO Transit route 40 'Hamilton-Richmond Hill'
Hamilton-Richmond Hill Express
To meet demand for service to Pearson International Airport from York Region, GO Transit introduced route 40 on April 26, 2008. This service added the new bay 9 and 10 at Richmond Hill Centre, which was previously the layover area for YRT/Viva services. Service operated along two branches: Route 40 from Square One to Richmond Hill Centre via Pearson, and Route 40A, only serving Square One and Pearson. This service allowed for service from Square One to the Airport to occur every half-hour both ways.
Route 40A was discontinued in early 2010 due to low ridership, along with service to Square One on route 40.
The new Enviro500 "Super Lo" was introduced to route 40 in December 2016. with its low height it is able to fit into Pearson Airport, and Hamilton GO Centre.
