==Details==
Line 13 operates between Gare Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Gare Centrale in downtown Montréal. Trains operate over the [[Canadian National Railway|CN]] St-Hyacinthe subdivision.

Service operates Mondays to Fridays only. Most departures are during rush hours in the peak direction, with one midday round-trip and one early evening round-trip. Trains are operated with diesel locomotives (either [[Bombardier]] ALP-45DP or [[General Motors Diesel Division|GMDD]] [[General Motors Electro-Motive Division F59PH series|F59PH]]) using 5 to 7 car consists of [[Bombardier]] [[Bombardier MultiLevel|MultiLevel]] double-deck coaches. Consists are stored overnight at the Mont-Saint-Hilaire yard (east of Gare Mont-Saint-Hilaire) while heavy maintenance takes place at Pointe-Saint-Charles Maintenance Centre.

==History==
Commuter service on the line was previously operated by [[Grand Trunk Railway]] and successor [[Canadian National Railway]]; service was discontinued in 1988.

[[Agence métropolitaine de transport]] (AMT) reopened the line between Gare Centrale and McMasterville in 2000, initially as a temporary measure following construction on parallel highways. Following the success of the service, additional trains were added, and the line was extended to Mont-Saint-Hilaire in 2002.

The AMT was abolished in June 2017 and was replaced by the [[Réseau de transport métropolitain]] (RTM). Shortly after, in July, [[Bombardier|Bombardier Transport]] took over the operation and maintenance of all commuter trains. The Mont-Saint-Hilaire line was rebranded as "exo3 - Mont-Saint-Hilaire line" upon introduction of the exo branding in 2018. The number was adjusted again in 2023 to "Line 13 Mont-Saint-Hilaire". A new simplified region-wide fare zone was introduced in July 2024, which replaced the older fare zones (1 through 6); Line 13 is now within zones A, B, and C.
