Route Details

Route 540 is a limited-stop route. It operates express, only stopping at 50 Street and Ellerslie Road.

From Heritage Valley Transit Centre, buses operate express east on Ellerslie Road and south on 50 Street to Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre. Buses in the opposite direction operate through the community centre parking lot, west on 55 Avenue, north on 50 Street, and west on Ellerslie Road to Heritage Valley.

History

• September 5, 2017: Route begins operation.
• May 4, 2020: Service temporarily suspended, due to low ridership caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
• August 23, 2021: Service resumes. Northern terminus shifted to Heritage Valley.
