The route 408 Stevenson was a local route for Durham Region Transit. The route was operated by the Raleigh Division.
Route Details
The 408 runs along residential streets from the Oshawa Centre Terminal, to Stevenson and Rossland. The route serves many side streets; Annapolis, Marion, Park North and Gibbons. The 408 connects students attending R.S McLaughlin C.V.I and Monsignor Paul Dwyer along with residents along the route from the north west end of Oshawa, to the Oshawa Centre Terminal. This route interlines with route 409 Thornton Monday to Saturday, before 10:00pm at the Oshawa Centre Terminal, and with the 412 Adelaide on Sunday. This route does not operate after 10:30pm during the week, 10:00 on Saturdays and after 5:30 on Sunday.
Route History
The 408 Stevenson was originally operated by Oshawa Transit(1960-2006), the route was originally the '8 Rossland' previous to 2004, the route operated from the Oshawa Centre, along Stevenson to Rossland and across Rossland to an old terminal point(Corbett's Hill). The route was significantly restructured to operate in the residential neighbourhood surrounding Stevenson Road(McLaughlin). Since this routing change in 2004, nothing large has changed. This route originally interlined with Routes 411 Grandview and 412 Adelaide. The route originally carried a #8 until the new numbering series was introduced in 2008. The route was cancelled when the 409 Thornton absorbed the route.
