Connecticut Transit, or CTtransit, is the transit system serving much of the state of Connecticut. It is a division of the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

History

CTtransit began operations in 1976.

Divisions

CTtransit provides bus service via contract providers for seven different metropolitan areas in the state, mostly concentrated in Hartford and New Haven counties.

Hartford Division

Providing local and express bus service within Hartford County. The contractor is First Transit.

New Britain and Bristol Divisions

A new facility being built in Watertown, CT is set to replace the old trolley barn at 1717 Thomaston Ave. in Waterbury. The new facility, when opened, will be at 760 Frost Bridge Rd, Watertown, CT.
