242 Lynn Valley/Vancouver was a bus route operated by Coast Mountain Bus Company in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Route Details
This was a north-south route connecting Lynn Valley in North Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver via Lonsdale Quay. Service ran on weekends/holidays only in the early morning hours in lieu of the SeaBus, N24 NightBus and other North Shore–Downtown Vancouver bus services.
Most trips ran on Sundays/holidays when the SeaBus started later in the morning. On Saturdays, one trip in each direction ran.
Northbound trips departed Downtown Vancouver heading south on Cambie Street, west on W. Georgia Street through the Stanley Park Causeway and across the Lions Gate Bridge, then east on Marine Drive becoming 3rd Street W., south on Chesterfield Avenue, east on Esplanade W., south on Lonsdale Avenue, and west on Carrie Cates Court to Lonsdale Quay. Continuing from Lonsdale Quay, trips went east on Carrie Cates Court, north on Lonsdale Avenue, east on 29th Street E., and east on Lynn Valley Road to Lynn Valley & Mountain Highway.
Southbound trips departed from Lynn Valley Road & Mountain Highway heading south on Mountain Highway, west on 27th Street, west on Lynn Valley Road, west on 29th Street E., south on Lonsdale Avenue, and west on Carrie Cates Court to Lonsdale Quay. Continuing from Lonsdale Quay, trips went east on Carrie Cates Court, north on Lonsdale Avenue, west on Esplanade W., north on Chesterfield Avenue, west on 3rd Street W. becoming Marine Drive, and south across the Lions Gate Bridge and through the Stanley Park Causeway becoming W. Georgia Street heading east to Larwill Park.
Northbound Saturday trips started at Lonsdale Quay. On Sundays/holidays, the first three northbound trips started at Lonsdale Quay and the last three northbound trips started from Downtown Vancouver as 242 Lonsdale Quay, short-turning at Lonsdale Quay with no changes in routing. All southbound trips on Saturdays and Sundays/holidays travelled the full route in both directions.

- May 2000 - Lions Gate Bridge reconstruction: Direct service to downtown temporarily discontinued and revised to terminate at Park Royal for several months; shuttle service established between Lonsdale Quay and Chilco Loop via the Second Narrows Bridge[4]
