Can-ar Coach Service, a division of Tokmakjian Inc., is a coach company based in Concord, Ontario. They provide charter services including those for tour companies, scheduled runs to Casino Rama, and connect small communities in southern Ontario to the Greater Toronto Area. Founded as Travelways by Larry Needler, the Can-ar name was adopted in 1983 by owner and president Cy Tokmakjian, who took over the company from Needler.
Coach operations
In addition to offering charters and tours, Can-ar has two scheduled routes:
- Toronto–Kincardine–Port Elgin
- Toronto–Port Perry–Lindsay-Haliburton
Transit operations
Can-ar has maintained the public transit fleet for the City of Vaughan since 1985 and continued to maintain the public transit fleet after the amalgamation of the York Region Transit (YRT). In February 2010, the contract to operate YRT's Southwest Division was awarded to Veolia Transportation. Veolia took over operations on August 1, 2010 and operate out of their own facility.
In January 2012, Tokmakjian separated transit operations into a new division known as TOK Transit. TOK Transit currently has the contract to operate YRT's North Division and Fort Erie Transit.
Fleet roster
Active
The roster is based on personal sightings and Can-ar Coach's official website. Not all coaches operated may be accounted for.
