The CaetanoBus e.City Gold is a battery electric low floor transit bus. Developed with Siemens and several institutions of Porto University, the bus was launched in 2016. It was trialed with the cities of Guimarães, Coimbra, Lisbon, Braga and Oporto. The Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto placed an order of 15 buses in 2017. This was followed by an order of another 15 buses by Carris.[1]
For enroute fast charging, the e.City Gold has a 100 kilowatt hour battery capacity. A 385 kilowatt hour battery capacity is used for the long range version. It offers a range of around 300 kilometres. By 2022, Caetanobus offered a 420 kilowatt hour battery capacity, allowing for a range of 350 kilometres.[2]
