Brampton Transit 0601-0621
Brampton Transit 0601-0621 are LFS built in 2005-06 by Nova Bus.
The order was announced at the end of May 2005 and are the first LFSes ordered by Brampton Transit and the first to be delivered in Brampton Transit's new livery. Although the order was scheduled to arrive prior to September, a delay in production caused them to arrive at the end of 2005 and beginning of 2006 (December/January). Most units entered service in January/February of 2006.
They were delivered with drivers' draft doors, infrared sensor-activated rear-doors (that were initially found to be confusing to passengers) and seating for 38 with the City of Brampton logo on the seat inserts.
The oddity of the fleet is 0609. The original bus that was supposed to become 0609 instead became Woodstock Transit 06-05. A new 0609 with an out-of-series VIN was produced, and after its display at the Ontario Transportation Expo 2006, it was delivered and entered service in April 2006. All units have build dates of December 2005 except 0609, which shows March 2006 instead. 0609 also was the only unit to feature silver Alcoa rims, which became standard on the next orders.
As these were the first Novas in the fleet, Nova loaned demonstrator unit 184-1, an LFS, for Brampton drivers to train on prior to delivery.
