BC Transit 9001-9010 are Dennis Trident buses with Duple Metsec DM5000 bodies built in 2000. They are the first modern low floor, double deck buses to be operated by a transit agency in North America.

In 1998, BC Transit ordered 11 low floor double deck buses from Dennis at a cost of $6.5-million. They were seen as an alternative to articulated buses for Victoria's high capacity routes.[1] The cost of the cost of the buses increased, however, after a number of modifications needed to be made to the design. These included a more powerful engine, four speed transmission, new rear axle, and HVAC system better suited to the climate.[2] Ten buses were ultimately delivered after one was damaged in an accident during production.[3]
