In 1972 [[BC Ferries K-Class|Deman Queen]], until when she was renamed the [[BC Ferries K-Class|Klitsa]] in 1973 serviced [[BC Ferries route 21 Buckley Bay - Denman Island West|Buckley Bay - Denman Island West]]. In 1978 [[BC Ferries K-Class|Kahloke]] was freed and moved [[BC Ferries route 21 Buckley Bay - Denman Island West|Buckley Bay - Denman Island West]]. In 1983 [[Ministry of Transportation Salt Water Ferries]] knew the route was growing and moved [[BC Ferries Quinitsa |Quinitsa]] to [[BC Ferries route 21 Buckley Bay - Denman Island West|Buckley Bay - Denman Island West]]. In 1985 the British Columbia Government decided to merger the [[Ministry of Transportation Salt Water Ferries]] routes and fleet with [[BC Ferries]] with the route staying the same until January 22, 2016. In 2009 [[BC Ferries]] was discussing to put a new type of vessel, a cable ferry, on the route which was approved in 2014.
