The official name was revealed with a naming and christening ceremony on February 19, 2020, and acceptance testing and crew training began shortly afterwards. It is expected to enter service in mid-2020 on route 25 (Port McNeill - Alert Bay - Sointula).

Future vessels
Four additional vessels have been ordered by BC Ferries, with delivery expected in Winter 2021/2022. These vessels will be used to replace Powell River Queen and Bowen Queen, enabling two-vessel service on routes 19 (Nanaimo Harbour - Gabriola Island) and 23 (Campbell River - Quadra Island). One of vessels from route 19 (Nanaimo Harbour - Gabriola Island) will perform relief duty’s for her sister.
