National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) 500-519, 2051-2052 are 1991 GE "Dash 8" (B32-8WH) locomotives.
They were ordered as the first locomotives to begin replacing the F40PH fleet.
500, 503-519 are owned by Amtrak, and are used most often in switching duties, having been supplanted by the P42DC fleet. They may still be used in revenue service, when short on power. 501-502 were transferred to Amtrak California circa 1998, and are used on the Capitol Corridor and San Joaquins.
