On-Request 'Newmarket Local' is an on-request service operated by York Region Transit in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada.

The current service area of MOR Newmarket Local.

This service provides on-request pick-up and drop-off at any fixed address bounded within the following area:

• North - Green Lane
• East - Highway 404
• South - Mulock Drive/Stonehaven Avenue
• West - Bathurst Street

As address-to-address or stop-to-stop service is not permitted, a terminus must be one of the following eight select locations:

• 155 Main Street North
• 925 Davis Drive (Hamilton Place)
• 540 Timothy Street
• 468-474 Eagle Street (Fairy Lake Gardens Apartments)
• 194-200 Eagle Street (Newmarket Health Centre / Armitage Gardens)
• 349-351 Crowder Boulevard (Heritage East Apartments)
• 20-40 William Roe Boulevard
• Tom Taylor Place (615 Fernbank Road)

Service is provided on weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

History

• April 5, 2020 - On-Request service is introduced to replace conventional service on the 520/521 Newmarket Local route due to low ridership from the COVID-19 pandemic. Service will pick-up and drop-off between any YRT stops along the former 520/521 route. Service will operate from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

• May 3, 2021 - Service is modified to provide service between any fixed address within a service area and one of eight select locations within the Newmarket area, and will no longer provide stop-to-stop service. Service will operate between 7:00am and 2:45pm.

• July 20, 2022 - Service area is expanded in the south to St. John's Sideroad to provide more service options for customers.

• January 15, 2024 - The southern service boundary is reduced to Mulock Drive, only extending south to Silken Laumann Drive/Stonehaven Avenue between the CN Rail corridor and Leslie Street.

As an On-Request service, there is no bus service. All services are provided by passenger vehicles with YRT markings.
