760 Vaughan Mills/Wonderland is a seasonal route operated by YRT in Vaughan, Markham, Toronto, and Richmond Hill, ON, operating only between May and the end of the winter holidays.

Basic

Route 760 serves Jane St., Highway 407, and Yonge St., providing express service on Jane and Highway 407 and local service on Yonge.

This route has 2 branches:

  • 760 Canada's Wonderland - Finch Terminal (Weekends/holidays, May to June, September to October; daily, July to August)
  • 760 Vaughan Mills Mall - Finch Terminal (Weekends/holidays, November to mid-December; Black Friday; daily, mid-December to early January)

This route, aside from providing service between the three points of interest, also serves the Thornhill community.

Route 760 connects to Viva Blue and Viva Pink during rush hours at Richmond Hill Centre Terminal (where it also connects to Viva Purple), Yonge/Royal Orchard, Yonge/Centre, Yonge/Clark, Yonge/Steeles, and Finch Station. Route 760 shares its length with Viva Blue and Viva Pink between Richmond Hill Centre and Finch Station.

Note that if any trip exceeds standee limit(which is 12 standees), then the bus will divert into Highway 7.

History

Route 760 started service on May 6, 2012, providing a direct link between Canada's Wonderland, Vaughan Mills, and Finch GO Bus Terminal.

When Canada's Wonderland is open, route 760 operates the full routing. However, when the park is closed, route 760 only provides service as far as Vaughan Mills. It was initially not operated between January and April, however 2016 saw the first time this route was operated year-round due to increasing demand.

Initially only weekend and holiday service was provided when route 760 is in operation, with the exception of the two weeks of winter holidays where daily service was provided. This was changed on July 14, 2014, where daily service was added at all times.

Route 760 was declared fully accessible in December 2012.

Service was rerouted onto Highway 407 during the 2015 season due to vivanext constrction.

To accommodate increased ridership, service was increased to every 30 minutes on Saturday mornings and evenings when Canada's Wonderland opened for the 2016 season, as well as a further increase to every 20 minutes during the summer season.

Service was rerouted onto Highway 400 during the 2017 season.

Vehicles

Route 760 is primarily a 40ft route, and uses Van Hool A330 Wc15.JPG, New Flyer XD40 Wc15.JPG and Nova Bus LFS Wc15.JPG as they are the only buses in Southwest's fleet with 407 transponders.
