Route 303 mainly serves Bur Oak Avenue east of Anderson Avenue.

This route serves the Mount Joy, Greensborough, and Cornell communities. It provides service to Finch in the morning and to Mount Joy in the afternoon.

History

D40LF #606 on route 303.

D40LF #901 on route 303.

• August 31, 2003 - Route 303 started, and was not part of the old Markham Transit. It initially had only 1 trip in each direction.

• May 9, 2004 - Route is assigned the number 303.

• July 2, 2006 - When Bur Oak Avenue opened, buses moved from Country Glen Road onto Bur Oak. Service was increased as more residential units were built and demand increased. As the end of the route overlapped express route 301, it provides a relief to this busy express route.

• June 30, 2008 - The route was extended further along Bur Oak to McCowan, removing the duplicate routing via Stone Mason, 16th, Fincham, Larkin and Whites Hill.

• September 2, 2008 - The route was renamed from "Cornell Express" to "Bur Oak Express", 3 months after the extension.

• April 24, 2011 - Service is extended westward along Bur Oak Avenue from McCowan Road to Kennedy Road.

• July 1, 2012 - A major realignment of the express routes occurred. Service was on route 303 was cut back to Mount Joy GO Station, with the portion west to McCowan Road covered by new route 304. The portion west of McCowan Road was discontinued due to low ridership.

• December 2012 - Route 303 was declared fully accessible.

• September 3, 2023 - The express fare premium is eliminated for all 300-series routes. Regular fares can now be used on the route.
