14 14th Ave is a local route operated by YRT in Markham, ON.
Route 14 mainly serves Alden Rd., 14th Ave., and Copper Creek Dr.
This route has 2 branches:
- 14 Woodbine Avenue - Copper Creek Drive via Rouge Bank Drive (Weekday rush hours only)
- 14 Woodbine Avenue - Copper Creek Drive (Weekdays)
This route serves the Milliken, Middlefield, Rouge Fairways, Legacy, Box Grove, and Cedar Grove communities. It also serves Milliken Mills High School, Milliken Mills Community Centre, Father McGivney Catholic Academy, and Middlefield Collegiate Institute.
Weekend service is provided by route 2 east of Markham Rd.
Route 2A was originally a rush-hour route operated by Markham Transit. Although it did not share a common portion of the route, it was labelled as a branch of the South Trunk route. The route originated at Alden and Esna Park, looping via Boxwood Cres. When YRT took over operations in 2001, it extended the route to Markham-Stouffville Hospital via the Box Grove community and 9th Line. Full weekday service was also later implemented.
To serve new developments in Box Grove, certain school special trips were diverted south on Box Grove Bypass serving Riverwalk Dr. This became standard for all rush hour trips in April 2008, followed by midday service in 2009. Also in 2009, eastbound service was routed through the new Grand Cornell subdivision along Kenilworth Gate and Stony Stanton Rd.
In September 2011, the school diversion to serve Markham District High School was separated into a new route 411.
Route 2A was declared fully accessible in December 2012.
The 2013 Service Plan eliminated the last two eastbound trips and the last westbound trip due to low ridership. With the successful lobbying from the Cornell Rate Payers Association to minimize transit routes serving the hospital vicinity, route 2A was renumbered to route 14 on July 2, 2013, in addition to having service rerouted away from Markham-Stouffville Hospital to serve Box Grove Smart!Centres. At the same time, the Russell Jarvis short-turn during weekday evenings was eliminated, and all trips now operate the full routing from Woodbine to Copper Creek.
