405 St. Augustine School Special is a school special bus route operated by York Region Transit in Markham, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
AM: This route follows the same routing as route 40 from Markville Mall via Hollingham Road to Calvert Road, then continues north on Rodick Road to the school, ending at Woodbine Avenue.
PM: This route follows the same routing as route 40 throughout the entire length from the school to Markville Mall, via John Button Boulevard and Apple Creek Boulevard.
History
The 2014 Annual Service Plan included a restructuring of the route 40/41, in order to strengthen the grid network along Carlton Road and Apple Creek Boulevard. Regular service would be discontinued along John Button Boulevard, Hollingham Road, Rodick Road, and Calvert Road, leaving the high school with no direct regular transit service.
- September 3, 2013 - Despite the fact the restructuring of route 40/41 never occurred, route 405 was introduced, operating along the same routing as the current route 40.
- February 23, 2014 - The routing was modified slightly, providing two-way service on Rodick Road north of Calvert Road in order to better serve students attending the school.
