405 St. Augustine School Special
|Number of Branches||1|
|Types of buses used||New Flyer D40LF/R , New Flyer XD40|
|Division||Southeast (Richmond Hill AM, Markham PM)|
AM: This route follows the same routing as route 40 from Markville Mall via Hollingham Rd. to Calvert Rd., then continues north on Rodick Rd. to the school, ending at Woodbine Ave.
PM: This route follows the same routing as route 40 throughout the entire length from the school to Markville Mall, via John Button Blvd.
The 2014 Annual Service Plan included a restructuring of the route 40/41, in order to strengthen the grid network along Carlton Rd. and Apple Creek Blvd. Regular service would be discontinued along John Button Blvd., Hollingham Rd., Rodick Rd., and Calvert Rd., leaving the high school with no direct regular transit service.
Despite the fact the restructuring of route 40/41 never occurred, route 405 was introduced on September 3, 2013, operating along the same routing as the current route 40.
The routing was modified slightly on February 23, 2014, providing two-way service on Rodick Rd. north of Calvert Rd. in order to better service students attending the school.
