History
- May 9, 2004 - New school special route introduced providing service from Richmond Hill GO Station to Richmond Hill High School in the morning. The route was named "Richmond Hill School Special 1".
- September 5, 2004 - Route is assigned the number 440, which was also assigned to route 440 for the St. Theresa School Special 3, and follows an identical routing. PM service is introduced operating the reverse AM routing.
- September 4, 2005 - Afternoon service is removed for the 2005 school season.
- September 2, 2007 - Route 440 is discontinued due to low ridership.

- May 9, 2004 - New school special route introduced providing service to Richmond Hill High School as part of the Richmond Hill restructuring. Route is named "Richmond Hill School Special 3" and operated on mostly the same routing as today, however it started service at Valleymede and Highway 7 instead of East Beaver Creek.
- September 5, 2004 - Route is assigned the number 448.
- September 2009 - The morning trip on route 448 was converted to a route 82 trip due to duplication with the scheduled route 82 trip.
- September 1, 2013 - The morning trip is reintroduced after the elimination of route 82's diversion to the high school.
- January 3, 2016 - The afternoon routing is shortened to end trips at Leslie Street and Minthorn Boulevard. Buses no longer operate north on Leslie Street and east on Highway 7 to Commerce Valley Drive East.
- September 5, 2023 - Route will no longer operate on Newkirk Road south of Centre Street East to serve the Richmond Hill GO Station terminal.
