On-Request 'Mount Albert' was an on-request service operated by York Region Transit in East Gwillimbury, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
This service provided on-request pick-up and drop-off at any fixed address bound by the following area:
- North - Doane Road
- East - York Durham Line
- South - Green Lane East / Herald Road
- West - 2nd Concession
As address-to-address service was not permitted, a terminus must be one of the following six select locations:
- Foodland (19263 Ontario Highway 48)
- East Gwillimbury Public Library (19300 Centre Street)
- Mount Albert Variety & Gift (74 Main Street)
- Mount Albert Rpad & Leslie Street
- East Gwillimbury GO Station (Platform 11)
- 404 Town Centre
Service was provided on weekdays from 5:30 AM to 10:45 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 7:45 PM.
History
- September 1, 2019 - On-Request service introduced to replace route 58 during off-peak periods only. Service will operate on weekdays from 10:00am to 1:45pm and 7:00pm to 10:45pm, and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 7:45pm.
- April 5, 2020 - Service hours expanded to include weekday peak-periods due to the temporary suspension of route 58 from COVID-19 service reductions. Weekday service hours are now from 8:00am to 10:45pm.
- September 14, 2020 - Weekday service hours are further expanded to operate between 5:30am and 10:45pm. 404 Town Centre is added as a select pick-up/drop-off location.
- June 30, 2024 - This service is merged with On-Request Holland Landing to create the new On-Request Holland Landing-Mount Albert. As a result, this service is discontinued.
Vehicles
As an On-Request service, there was no bus service. All services were provided by passenger vehicles with YRT markings.
