Route Details
This route served The Queensway, Glenwoods Avenue, Ravenshoe Road, and Woodbine Avenue, with a terminus at East Gwillimbury GO Station along Green Lane East.
History
- February 17, 2009 - To provide more links for Keswick citizens to transit services in northern York Region, namely the Barrie Line at East Gwillimbury GO Station, route 220 was created. This route provides additional service for Keswick alongside GO Transit route 69, which services East Gwillimbury GO Station as well. A parking lot was built (complete with lighting) at Glenwoods and Woodbine to service the northern terminus of this route, which was completed to coincide with the start of the route.
- June 28, 2009 - Route restructured to start at Ravenshoe Road and Laurendale Avenue to serve citizens along Ravenshoe, Queensway and Glenwoods prior to servicing the park and ride lot in the morning.
- July 1, 2012 - Route 220 is discontinued and replaced with the reintroduction of the 50 Queensway route which will serve Glenwoods Avenue and the park and ride lot, and one trip will divert to serve East Gwillimbury GO Station.
Vehicles
Due to the low ridership on this route, all runs used E-Z Rider II/MAXs.
