Routing Details

History

Route 401 started service in February 2009. Originally, students would use route 85 (now route 16) and transfer at the hospital to route 2A (now route 14). However, route 2A buses would usually skip the hospital stop because they were full from students attending Markham District. By having the dedicated bus to complete the full journey, it skipped the transfer at the hospital and saved nearly 40 minutes of travel time for students south of Highway 7.
