Interior layout of 9401.

York Region Transit 9401 was a Orion 05.505 bus built in 1994 for LYNX in Florida as #435. It was bought by YRT in August 2005 and put in service a short time later. The bus was an extremely rare 30-foot Orion V, the only one in the fleet and one of only a few in the province.

As LYNX painted their buses all-over including the window frames, they were repainted white along with the whole bus after retirement. Much of their interior is original, keeping with LYNX's theme of many colours outside and inside their buses. In September 2008, 9401's original Luminator Luminator Mega:MAX destination sign, which was often working improperly, was replaced with a small Horizon sign.

9401 was originally based out of Newmarket, but was transferred to Miller and finally to Can-Ar in Vaughan. It was frequently seen providing service on routes 3 Thornhill, 4 Major Mackenzie, 10 Woodbridge, 13 Islington, 20 Jane, and 23 Thornhill Woods.

This bus was retired with the arrival of the 901-945 series.
