Western Contra Costa County Transit Authority or WestCAT is the public transit service in western Contra Costa County, California that serves the cities of Hercules and Pinole. It is operated under contract by MV Transportation.

History

WestCAT was established in August 1977 as a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement between the County of Contra Costa and the cities of Hercules and Pinole.

  • 103 was involved in an accident in 2009 and retired.[5]
  • 101, 102, 104-110 retired in early 2014.
  • 100 was kept as a reserve bus in 2014.[6][7] It retired in early 2019.
  • 111 was refurbished in July 2016 and was reconfigured with suburban seating for use on the Lynx route. It remained in regular service until becoming a reserve bus in 2019.
