West Vancouver Municipal Transit 971 was a New Flyer Industries D40LF built in 1996.

971 was one of the only conventional buses in West Vancouver Transit history to not be in the Blue Bus livery. It was also the only D40LF in the fleet not in Blue Bus colours. Before service in West Vancouver, 971 was with Coast Mountain Bus Company numbered 7198. It was retired from CMBC service in December 2014 and placed into storage and returned in March 2015 to replace 964 (which itself was pulled out of storage in November 2013 to replace 981). 971 received very minimal West Vancouver branding and retained its CMBC livery.
