The Volvo Buses 9500 is a tourist coach based on the TX product platform. The 9500 was launched at the end of September 2010 and is meant to address increased demand for a medium duty, cost effective coach. It uses less fuel than it's 9700 and 9900 counterparts with a smaller engine. Cost is also reduced with the use of simplified headlights, while keeping with the overall appearance of Volvo's other coaches.[1]

The 9500 is built on the B8R chassis, which uses a Euro 6, 8 litre rear mounted engine. The Euro 5 9500 was built on the B9R chassis, which used a 9 litre engine mounted at the rear.

The 9500 comes standard with safety featured used on other Volvo coaches. These include Front Underrun Protection, protecting automobile occupants in a bus-car collision, and Front Impact and Knee Impact, which absorbs and diverts impact forces away from the driver in a frontal collision.[2]
