Van Hool TX40
|Years of manufacture||2013 to present|
The Van Hool TX40 is a 40-foot luxury touring coach available in Canada and the United States. It was launched in November 2013 along with the Van Hool TX45. The TX40 is an evolution of the Van Hool T2140.
The most noticeable change from the T2140 is the appearance. The TX40 shares the same look as Van Hool's other TX coaches with distinctive angular headlight and tail light clusters. In addition, it features lights in the bumper that react to the steering and speed of the coach to aim them at the road. The TX40 differs from the European TX coaches with more pronounced bumpers and different baggage and entrance doors.
The TX40 is four inches taller than the T2140. The added height is in the coach's luggage bays and engine compartment. Also, the luggage bay doors' seal is now mounted to the door instead of the body. The electrical box was relocated from the bulkhead wall of the luggage bay to its roof, and the battery compartment was relocated ahead of the curb-side drive axle.
