The Van Hool CX is a range of motorcoaches available in Canada and the United States. It was launched in November 2013 alongside the TX range at ABC Companies' central Florida facility.[1] The CX range is intended to be the economical compliment to the TX and an evolution of the C2000.

The front fascia of the C2000 was revised with a different headlight placement and the addition of two lines of LED accent lighting. The rear of the CX is a more drastic departure from the C2000 with new body lines, new rear window, and simplified tail lights in a red bezel. Inside, the coach features parcel racks with blue LED night lighting and new passenger service sets with backlit buttons.

The first model of the CX range was the 45-foot CX45. A 35-foot model, known as the CX35, was introduced in September 2015. The two coaches have the same appearance as well as a 70 percent parts commonality.

On October 9, 2017, it was announced that Proterra will provide its E2 battery system for Van Hool's first battery-electric motorcoach. Exclusively distributed by ABC Companies in North America, the all-electric CX45E will debut in late 2018 while the shorter CX35E will be introduced shortly after. Deliveries of the CX45E are expected to begin in 2019.[2] The coaches will be designed and developed in Koningshooikt, Belgium. Production will be transitioned to Skopje, Macedonia, where the diesel CX45 and CX35 are being built.[3]

In January 2018, Van Hool introduced a design refresh of the CX range. The facelifted front has the headlights rearranged and a diffused line of white LEDs over them. The tail light bezels were reshaped and the rear window received chromed trim along the bottom. Inside, the CX uses strips of LED lighting and features new passenger service sets with chrome trim.
