Great Northern Way is a planned SkyTrain station in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Located at Great Northern Way & Thornton Street in Vancouver, Great Northern Way Station is one of five planned stations along the Broadway Subway extension of the Millennium Line. It will be located in the False Creek Flats area adjacent to the Emily Carr University of Art + Design's Great Northern Way campus. Similar to Olympic Village, Great Northern Way will be built in the staging pit used for the tunnel boring machine. As the station site will be the main staging area for the tunnel boring machine, this is likely the last station along the Broadway Subway to be completed.
On September 9, 2019, archaeology investigation work undertaken by the Ministry of Transportation started near the station site and lasted for approximately one week. The archaeology work took place directly west of VCC–Clark and along Great Northern Way and Thornton Street under archaeology monitors from local First Nations. Further soil investigation work occurred in October directly south of the BNSF railroad right-of-way near Thornton Street.
The proposed location of Great Northern Way Station would result in the demolition of the Equinox and Monte Clark Galleries, located in the former Finning tractor shop at 525 Great Northern Way. The two art galleries have helped foster Vancouver talent worldwide but due to space limitations with the BNSF railroad right-of-way and the Emily Carr campus, there were no options to relocate the station and SkyTrain right-of-way. 270 art enthusiasts petitioned to save the galleries and the old tractor shop that houses them in 2018.
