Toronto Transit Commission 9000-9026
Toronto Transit Commission 9000-9026 are 2013 Nova Bus LFS Artic buses. These are the first articulated buses purchased by the TTC since the late 1980s, and the first buses purchased from Nova Bus since 1998. The TTC has long recognized the need for articulated buses, however until recently was not able to find a manufacturer who met their criteria. In a 2009 report regarding the procurement of buses, the TTC was interested in following the experience of then recent customers of the LFS Artic.[1]

History
Order
In February 2012, the TTC issued a request for proposals for the supply of articulated buses in 2013, 2014, and 2015. New Flyer and Nova Bus each submitted bids, and on August 2, 2012, the TTC awarded Nova Bus the contract for 27 buses to be delivered in 2013. An additional 56 and 70 buses would be purchased in 2014 and 2015.[2] The TTC later approved the advancement of the 2015 order and will have 126 buses delivered in 2014.
Modifications
This order sees a number of features that are a first for TTC buses. These include LED headlights, LED interior lighting, lighter passenger seats with improved ergonomics, and electric powertrain cooling. The popularity of these features has increased since their introduction to the market more than five years prior.
The pilot bus (9000) had additional LED brake light strips under the radiator louvers. These were removed prior to delivery. In addition, the bus featured LED crossbar lighting inside that is not included on subsequent deliveries.
On December 20, 2013, the first bus (9001) officially entered service on route 7 Bathurst. Despite a delay in production due to a tire recall, the TTC was able to meet their target of a December launch date.
This series began getting the new Computer-Aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) Vehicle Information System and Integrated Operations Network (VISION) system installed in August 2018. The entire series was equipped with VISION by October 2018.
Deliveries History
These buses were delivered to Wilson Division. They were able to retire the 7000 series Orion Vs.
