Thompson Transit is the transit agency in Thompson, Manitoba.

History

The service was originally contracted to Thompson Bus Lines. It has been operated by Grey Goose Lines (later a subsidiary of Greyhound Canada) since the 1970s.[1]

Service was suspended beginning on November 1, 2018 after Greyhound Canada ceased operating in Western Canada.[2] Thompson City Council was unable to approve a new contractor due to municipal elections being held at the time. A temporary contract was awarded to Maple Bus Lines on February 4, 2019 to operate the system until June 30, 2019;[3] after this contract ended, service was once again suspended. Maple Bus Lines was awarded a 54 month contract to begin operation of Thompson Transit starting on January 2, 2020; however, Maple Bus Lines abandoned the contract effective May 3, 2024,[4] once again leaving Thompson without transit service.
