The Southern California Rapid Transit District (known as RTD) was the public transportation provider in the Southern California region serving Los Angeles County and some of its neighbouring counties from 1964-1993

  • Some units had their manual transmissions replaced.
  • 5520 was part of Ralph Cantos's "Comatose Bus Collection" (taken over by Egon Kafka) in Fontana, CA, where it sat for about 25 years in a non-operational state. It was acquired by Scott Richards/Regional Transit Service in September 2017 and is undergoing repairs. It retains its original manual transmission.

Allison V730

  • Some units were rehabbed in the late 1980's and were repowered with V730 transmissions.
  • 3134 was converted into an RV by a private owner in Riverside, CA. It was spotted in December 2015.

  • Used for UMTA's Double Deck Bus Demonstration Project (July 1974 to June 1977)
  • Became training buses in 1982 and were sold off in 1985.
    • 1 unit was bought by Lightrider, a mobile retreat ministry and was moved to Indiana. It was later sold to Eagle Wings, another mobile retreat ministry in 2000 and remains there today.[2]
