Société de transport de Montréal 36-001 to 36-027
Société de transport de Montréal 36-001 to 36-027 are Nova Bus LFS HEV buses built and delivered in 2016. They are part of an order placed by the Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ) for their nine member transit agencies. This new generation of hybrid bus is being deployed on route 11 Parc-du-Mont-Royal as part of an initiative to promote sustainability and conservation, especially in the Mont Royal Park. On 24 May 2016, the 140th anniversary of the park, the inaugural run took place.[1]
These buses are the first 4th generation LFS for the STM. They are also their first series hybrid buses—28-701 to 28-708 used Allison's parallel hybrid system. Of the 27 in this order, 20 will have air conditioning activated to compare the cost of operation with and without air conditioning. The option for air conditioning adds an additional $30,000 to the purchase cost.[2]
36-018 and up are fitted with frameless windows.
