Porterville Transit provides transit service to the city of Porterville, California.
History

Porterville Transit can trace its origins to 1980, when the city of Porterville created a demand-response, curb-to-curb transit service dubbed Dial-a-COLT, short for "City Operated Local Transit". Due to the popularity of Dial-a-COLT, the fixed-route Porterville Transit service was created in 1997 to supplement the demand-response service. In 2006, Dial-a-COLT ceased providing public transit to the general public, pivoting to becoming a paratransit service limited to seniors and those qualifying under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
