Route 153 is a local limited service route that runs from Lincoln Fields Station, through Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre, McEwen and Ambleside area to Carlingwood, with some trips that run from Tunney's Pasture to Carlingwood Mall.
History
December 24th, 2012
- Route was created to replace unpopular Route 2's special trips between Carlingwood Mall and Lincoln Fields Station. Main difference is that this route runs all-day, instead of just a few select trips.
April 21st, 2013
- The departure times will be slightly revised so that the service is more consistent for better reliability.
October 15th, 2018
- Some trips now extend to and from Bayshore to supplement service for Route 97.
- Some trips now extend to and from Tunney's Pasture, effectively replacing Route 151.
- This is due to the (3rd) LRT opening delay which the September 2nd, 2018 service changes were designed for, causing instability in between the area's Route 11 served before it was changed for a more direct connection to Line 1.
October 6th, 2019
- Will be shortened to end at Lincoln Fields Station. Service between Lincoln Fields and Bayshore is replaced by revised Route 11.
- Extended to Lanark Avenue.
March 30th, 2020
- Due to low ridership from the COVID-19 outbreak. Service will be reduced to:
- Every two hours.
- The last eastbound trip is three hours after the previous trip.
June 28th, 2020
- Will be in service and will operate the same route network that was in place from January to March 2020, with some seasonal adjustments.
December 19th, 2021
- Will be adjusted to operate on the completed roadways at Lincoln Fields Shopping Centre.
- Will no longer operate on Croydon Ave.
June 26th, 2022
- Will be adjusted to maintain connections at Lanark Avenue, McRae Avenue, Westboro Station and Tunney’s Pasture Station.
- Will no longer operate on Churchill Ave between Richmond Rd. and Scott St.
