Route 129 was a bus route operated by OC Transpo in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Route Details
Route 129 was a regular route that operated in the Carson Grove area. Route's Saturday and Sunday trips started at Blair station and between 9 AM and 5 PM, trips were extended to the Aviation and Space Museum via the Aviation Parkway. One trip was extended to the Aviation and Space Museum via the Aviation Parkway, northbound in the morning peak period and southbound in the afternoon.
History
August 29th, 1999
- New route from combining Routes 191 and 198.
- Route will not operate between Blair and Hurdman stations on Sunday’s.
- Some peak period trips bypass Matheson, Charlton, Plumber.
August 31st, 2003
- Route is extended to the Rideau Centre during rush hour to eliminate a transfer and improve travel time for Cité collégiale students.
December 21st, 2003
- After leaving Hurdman heading to downtown, the route ends at the MacKenzie King Bridge instead of at the Rideau Centre.
September 4th, 2004
- Will no longer operate downtown in peak periods, with the exception of a few trips that will be extended to LeBreton Station.
- Weekday service will operate to and from Hurdman Station, while weekend service will operate to and from Blair.
- No weekend service before 9 AM. This was due to major budget cuts in the city’s operating budget.
June 26th, 2005
- Service before 9 AM on Saturdays and Sundays is reinstated.
April 16th, 2006
- Will be added to the accessible route network.
September 2nd, 2007
- Will be revised to follow the current detour routing from Codds Road to Hemlock, instead of using Via Venus and Cosmo, on a permanent basis due to the closure of DND offices and facilities on Via Venus and Cosmo.
September 6th, 2009
- Route is combined with Route 29 to become revised Route 129.
- Route is shortened to end at Hurdman station.
- Route is revised due to the closure of the CFB Rockcilffe Airbase. To Aviation, route will travel via Carson's, Montreal, then Aviation, with the reserve towards Hurdman.
September 5th, 2010
- Early morning trips are added to replace a portion of Route 824.
September 4th, 2011
- Was shortened at most times to operate between Hurdman Station and Montreal Road. Buses will follow their regular route to Den Haag, then travel in a clockwise loop via Den Haag, Montreal Road and Carson's.
- One trip was extended to the Aviation and Space Museum via the Aviation Parkway, northbound in the morning peak period and southbound in the afternoon.
- Most trips will be extended to the museum on summer weekends starting in 2012.
April 22nd, 2012
- Service hours to the Aviation Museum will be adjusted to better serve the needs of customers.
December 23rd, 2012
- Will have the weekday trip to the Aviation and Space Museum adjusted later to better match museum hours.
September 1st, 2013
- Extended until about 9:30 PM on Sundays in response to customers’ needs.
- Minor frequency reductions in certain time periods.
June 22nd, 2014
- All weekend trips end at Blair station.
June 28th, 2015
- No service to Train or Cyrville Stations.
September 6th, 2015
- Seven southbound morning peak trips and eight-afternoon peak northbound trips will be extended to Carleton.
December 20th, 2015
- Does not travel west of Hurdman Station to Carleton University. For service to Carleton, see new Route 104.
June 25th, 2017
- New routing and stop locations at Hurdman Station.
October 6th, 2019
- Route is cancelled and replaced by new frequent Route 25 which will provide a new connection north of Blair.
- Will no longer travel to Hurdman Station.
