Oakville GO Station is a GO Transit/VIA train station located in Oakville, ON. It is located west of Trafalgar Rd., between Cross Ave. and Cornwall Rd.

One station platform is located between the southern and middle tracks, with the other located north of the northern track. The southern platform is connected to the north side through an underground walkway at the east end to the GO station building. The bus loop is located east of the station building, with parking lots extending north and far west. The VIA station building is west of GO's, and Amtrak/VIA trains stop primarily on the north platform, #1.

History

Oakville saw the first GO train departure at 4:50 AM on May 23, 1967. It was the original western terminus of GO's service on the Lakeshore line. Since then, Oakville has grown to become the busiest station on the network (outside of Union). It has also acted as the primary hub for Oakville Transit's service since its beginning in 1972.

Station construction in 2008 saw VIA construct its new station, and platform extensions to 12 cars. The tracks were also realigned in preparation for the addition of a 3rd (and later 4th) track through the station.

In 2009, Oakville GO became a stop for the Niagara Falls Excursion Train.

Connecting routes

Because of the volume of buses passing through the station, there are two loops: an outer counter-clockwise loop used by GO buses, and an inner clockwise loop used by Oakville buses. All buses serving the station do so through one of the two loops.

    • Bays 5+: Extended layover for Oakville buses
  • Inner loop (numbered clockwise from first bay):
