Route 23 Lakeshore is a regular Mississauga Transit route. Service is provided seven days a week, and regular fares apply. The route travels Lakeshore Road, and terminates at Clarkson GO Station in the west and Long Branch GO Station in the east, while serving Port Credit GO Station. In the early AM hours, the route originates at Sheridan Centre, with eastbound trips departing at 4:37 AM, 4:54 AM, and 5:12 AM.
- *230 23 E LAKESHORE ~ TO LONG BRANCH
- *231 23 W LAKESHORE ~ TO CLARKSON GO
All day service to the Sheridan Centre was once provided, but was discontinued, except for a few Eastbound early AM trips.
Until October 22, 2007, route 23 was interlined with route 5 Dixie on Weekends.
Before September 4, 2007, route 13 did not service its Truscott/Bromsgrove loop on Sundays: and that area was served by route 23. No documentation of the change was made by Transit. See the map to the left.
The route became fully accessible on October 10, 2003
Service east of Port Credit was operated by the TTC as route 74 Port Credit until 1974, when the route was acquired by the newly formed Mississauga Transit. Even earlier, interurban streetcars provided the service.
